Her Voice
It was almost four in the morning and he still was not able to catch even a wink of sleep. He tossed and turned but he just could not get into that sleep mode. Yonghwa sighed out loud. He sat up on the bed and gave a thorough glance around the room. Dark.
Yonghwa could hear the faint sounds of snores coming from different directions of the house. 'At least they could sleep.' Yonghwa sniggered as he got off from the bed and fumbled with the switch to turn on the lights.
The sudden brightness of the room greeted his eyes with a pang. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked around the room. All his things were in place, neat and tidy; thanks to Jungshin who worked hard to clean up his room before Seohyun arrived earlier that afternoon.
Yonghwa chuckled to himself as he allowed his mind to think about the things which happened in his room earlier. Seohyun in his room, talking, laughing, singing and even writing the Banmal song with him. It was very special. She was the first girl to ever enter his room. To sit beside him while he did his work. To observe him while he compose his songs. She was the first.
Yonghwa smiled as he sat himself on his work chair and turned his laptop on. His eyes landed on the piece of paper Seohyun had used to write the lyrics of the song. He held it in front of his face and grinned. The honesty of her words really described her personality. She was a sincere person, trustworthy, loyal. She was just typical Seohyun, who would not lie when conveying her messages. Her believes were unique and he respected that.
Yonghwa traced his finger on a heart shape drawing on the paper. Seohyun drew that, he knew. Was that her heart? Was she trying to tell him something which comes from her heart? If only he knew what was inside her heart. If only he could read those words in her heart. If only he could understand her heart. He knew he could not, as she disguised her heart very well.
It was four thirty in the morning. Yonghwa fiddled with his laptop, looking for the music file he had saved from the recordings he and Seohyun did in the afternoon. He found them under the title : URI SARANG. Yonghwa opened the file and let allowed the songs to play.
Her voice filled up the room. Her voice soft. She was not talking or anything, just laughing. Yonghwa closed his eyes. Her laughter sounds like bells to his ears. Very welcoming, soothing, practically calming. It was nice. Her voice was making him relaxed. He body was getting weaker. He lost to her voice.
"A ah? Testing, microphone test, 1,2,3." Seohyun's recorded voice filled the room suddenly causing Yonghwa to open his eyes in shock. He thought that the real Seohyun was in his room at that moment. Yonghwa eyed his laptop, confused.
"Yong oppa? Hehe! I know this is being recorded. I want to say sorry first for recording this without your permission." Seohyun's voice said again. Yonghwa continued to listen hard. "It's just, you're in the toilet for so long and I'm just bored."
Yonghwa shook his head grinning.
"Anyway, I just want to tell you something. Um, a quite embarassing thing actually, for me." Yonghwa heard a bit of fumbling in the background of the recording. "Sorry, I just dropped the mic." Yonghwa grimaced. "Aigoo! Does my voice sounds funny to you? Oh sorry. Back to this, I just want to say thank you for writing that Banmal song for me and making it our couple song. I enjoy doing all these with you. The memories are really precious to me. Hm, I want to say, you're a great husband and um, you're great."
Yonghwa frowned. What was she doing? Just recording her voice to tell him he's great?
"Oh ya! Another thing, um, uh, saranghae."
With that, the recording ended. Yonghwa gaped. It was certainly a confession, he must admit, from that voice of an angel saying 'I love you' to him. That voice which held so much power to control his nerve systems.
And now, that voice just stunned him at five in the morning.
