Prequel Set 6 - Another Variety? Part II
Seohyun was getting worried. Her eyes kept darting towards the kitchen entrance. The sounds of pots and pans clanging made her even nervous. She stole a glance at Nicole who was busy biting her fingernails. She had the same worried expression on her pretty face as well. She looked up to meet Seohyun's eyes causing both of them to chuckle simultaneously.
"Aigoo! What do you think they'll be cooking for us?" Nicole asked, leaning back against the living room couch.
"Hm, I'm not sure. Maybe something which is not that complicated? Maybe kimchi fried rice or sandwich?" Seohyun guessed, shrugging.
"The only think my husband knows how to cook is ramen." Nicole laughed.
"Ah sinchia?"
"Ne. What about Yonghwa?"
Seohyun smiled. "Well, he knows how to cook a number of things. Frankly, he's the one who taught me how to cook in the first place other than mum."
"No way!" Nicole stared at Seohyun with rounded eyes. She was unable to believe whatever she was hearing.
"Yes. He cooks well." Seohyun grinned even wider. She was feeling proud of her husband suddenly. It felt kind of nice to boast about her husband's ability to others.
"Wow! I envy you Seohyun-ah." Nicole pouted but could not help grinning.
Seohyun smiled, feeling very thankful suddenly. Her hands unconciously began rubbing her tummy. She could feel the light but playful kickings from her baby again, once in a while.
"Is the baby kicking you?" Nicole asked, her eyes fixed on Seohyun's hands.
Seohyun smiled wider. "Ne. Do you want to feel it?"
Nicole nodded and straight away sat closer beside Seohyun. Seohyun took her hand in hers and placed it on one side of her stomach. "Here. She's kicking rather strongly today."
"Aigoo! I can feel it!" Nicole exclaimed. Tears were forming in her eyes. It was such an unbelievable experience for her. "She's a girl isn't she?"
"Ne. Our princess."
"Wow! Such a strong kick from a girl!" Nicole grinned. "Have you two chosen names yet?"
"Ne. We've gotten a name for her." Seohyun nodded shyly.
"Sinchia?" Nicole looked over at Seohyun with a smile. "Care to share with me?"
Seohyun looked around at the filming crew before smiling slyly. She leaned into Nicole's ear and whispered, "I will only tell you this, but please don't say it out loud to the camera." Nicole nodded quickly. "Okay, it's Jung Hana."
Nicole faced Seohyun with an her lips shaped like an 'O'. "Ommo! Such a sweet name!"
"Sinchia?"
"Ne! I personally love it!" Nicole said, with a wide smile, her hands still grasping Seohyun's.
"Thank you. I hope you'll find a suitable name for your baby too." Seohyun smiled.
"I've written some names down. But I haven't gotten a chance to talk to Jinwoon about it."
"I'm sure he'll love the names you've chosen." Seohyun pat the latter's hands gently. Nicole nodded in understanding.
"Um, what else do you experience during your pregnancy?" Nicole asked as she too started to rub her stomach gently. "What are the kinds of things we could do which is good for the baby?"
"Well, there are a few things which I've read about. I do follow some of them." Seohyun started explaining bit by bit.
******
"Aigoo! Why is it so hard for me to do this?" Jinwoon asked as he tried to slice a tomato. "It's been so long since I last did cutting on a chopping board."
"Sinchia? Don't tell me you've never cooked for yourself during your idol days?" Yonghwa asked in shock.
"That's because we have Changmin hyung who was always ready to cook for us. I do help him sometimes." Jinwoon shrugged. "But most of the time when I tried to help, I will be sent out of the kitchen because Changmin hyung said I worked too slow."
Yonghwa laughed. "You should practice being in the kitchen more often Jinwoon-ah. Especially when Nicole's in her third trimester. You have to do more work."
"Third trimester? What is that?"
"Third trimester is when a pregnant woman reaches her 7th month of pregnancy. That is the critical period where the woman will depend much much more on her husband." Yonghwa explained. "Do you want your wife to continue doing the house work when she is during that period? All round in the stomach, difficult to move around freely, always having body aches and swollen feet?"
Jinwoon thought for a while before finally shaking his head. "It sounds quite tiring."
"Yes, it is tiring. That's why I am trying my best to help Seohyun in whatever ways I can." Yonghwa continued. "By doing all these, our wives would feel grateful and happy at least. So, if your wife is happy, the baby in her womb will feel happy as well. And when she's happy, you'd feel at ease."
"Wah! Now you're an expert on all this Yonghwa-ya!" Jinwoon pat Yonghwa's shoulder.
"I've experienced her pregnancy wrath before, and so I learn from my mistakes." Yonghwa said, his voice suddenly went down a few octaves lower. "And you should be aware too."
"Pregnancy wraths? What do you mean?"
"Aigoo. It's really scary I tell you." Yonghwa shivered a little. He was busy placing the tomato slices which Jinwoon had cut earlier in the sandwich he was making.
"Tell me! Pali!" Jinwoon urged his friend. His voice had also dropped into a whisper. He knew whatever Yonghwa was about to tell him should not be heard by their wives, especially Seohyun. But they had forgotten about the camera, which was fixed in the kitchen, recording every single conversation they were having.
"Well, there was one time she had the pregnancy craving. It was such a horrible experience for me." Yonghwa shook his head as he continued to tell Jinwoon the whole story, on how they travelled to Japan to get the sweet potato ice cream which Seohyun thought she craved but wasn't and then back to Seoul where she started having another weird craving about hamburger.
"Sinchia? Seohyun was like that?" Jinwoon had difficulty in believing. "But Seohyun's the most disciplined girl around! She never lets her emotions control her!"
"Once women are pregnant, they just lose their sense of control!" Yonghwa nodded his head.
"Aigoo. This is hard."
"You bet. I sure hope there'll be no other nonsense from her in the last two months or so." Yonghwa sighed. "Just be prepared Jinwoon-ah."
"Ahrasso. I will make sure to pay attention to what she wants then." Jinwoon said, grinning.
"Ja-jann! One meal done!" Yonghwa placed the sandwiches they had just made on a very presentable plate.
"Yah! We're great husbands!" Jinwoon praised. "Okay, what next?"
"Hm, let's do something simple. What about kimchi and vegetable fried rice?" Yonghwa suggested as he browsed through the remaining ingredients.
"Let's do kimchi fried rice and vegetable soup. It's more appetizing that way!" Jinwoon said, sharing his oppinion.
"Okay cool! Seohyun would love having some vegetable soup!"
"Nicole too! What should I do now?" Jinwoon asked.
"Cut the carrots for me first." Yonghwa said as he passed the carrots to Jinwoon.
"Aigoo! Cutting again?" Jinwoon pouted.
"Then would you like to cook it then?" Yonghwa asked, glaring at his friend.
"Ani. You do that." Jinwoon grinned sheepishly as he got back to cutting the carrots. Yonghwa just shook his head laughing.
******
"Yeobo-ya, your two hours are almost up!" Seohyun said as she stepped into the kitchen. She smiled the moment she saw Yonghwa who was cleaning up the kitchen after his and Jinwoon's stunts in cooking. Jinwoon on the other hand was wiping the kitchen counter.
"We're done actually." Jinwoon answered, raising his eyebrows.
"Wow! Something smells good here." Nicole entered the kitchen next smiling excitedly.
"Of course! What we cooked for the two of you will definitely be really delicious!" Yonghwa said.
"Alright. I'm anticipating it." Seohyun gave a sly glance towards her husband before pulling Nicole out of the kitchen with her.
"Seohyun- ah! You were right! They did make sandwiches and kimchi fried rice!" Nicole whispered excitedly to her friend.
"I told you so. That's the basic thing which will appear on their minds." Seohyun giggled.
Soon the table was filled with food which had been prepared by the two most caring and loving husbands for their lovely pregnant wives. Nicole was endlessly praising Jinwoon for his effort. Seohyun on the other hand stood beside Yonghwa and grasped his hand tight, smiling sweetly at him.
"Okay, now you guys just sit down facing the camera." Kanghee started to instruct the two couples. "Then the husbands will serve the food to the wives and the wives will taste the food and give some comments."
The two couples nodded and settled themselves down at the respective places. The wives in the middle and the husbands at their sides.
"Why am I suddenly feeling nervous?" Yonghwa started saying as he placed a sandwich which he and Jinwoon had prepared earlier on a plate to serve it to Seohyun.
"Don't worry, it's delicious." Jinwoon said as he too served the sandwich to Nicole.
"Jagi-ya, please taste our food." Yonghwa and Jinwoon said together causing both their wives to giggle happily.
"It's made with love." Jinwoon added.
Seohyun and Nicole took a bite in the sandwich. Yonghwa and Jinwoon had used wholemeal bread for the sandwich. It was filled with chicken ham, cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. They added a bit of mayonaise in the sandwich as well so that there would be a bit of creamy taste.
"Hm, I love it!" Nicole said as she chewed her sandwich. "Although this sandwich is common, I still think that this is the most delicious one I've ever eaten!"
"Ah, sinchia?" Jinwoon smiled. "Eat more then darling."
"Of course." Nicole grinned as she stuffed a mouthful of sandwich into her husband's mouth.
"Aish! This is the first time I see such a mushy couple." Yonghwa said causing laughter to rise up all around the house.
"It's delicious!" Seohyun said, a smile forming on her lips. "Komawo yeobo-ya."
"Aish! Anything for my love." Yonghwa said, his voice husky. All the crew including Jinwoon and Nicole were suddenly throwing catcalls at them causing Seohyun to blush prettily.
"This is the power of the Goguma couple!" Jinwoon exclaimed.
"Okay, next?" Nicole pointed to the steamy hot kimchi fried rice in front of her.
"Do you want to try that?" Jinwoon asked as he scooped some rice onto a plate and some vegetable soup into a bowl. Yonghwa did the same and served it to Seohyun.
"This is good as well. Sinchia!" Nicole held up a thumb as she ate the fried rice, at the same time drinking the soup.
"Mmm. It's good!" Even Seohyun agreed.
After receiving verdict for the food and since the wives are very satisfied with their husbands' cooking, Yonghwa and Jinwoon joined in eating the food as well.
Kanghee was satisfied with the progress of the filming. He thanked Yonghwa and Seohyun yet again for accepting to be a guest star in the new show, We Are Expecting. He was truly very pleased with their performance for that day.
"Thank you for coming both of you." Nicole said as she held on tight to Seohyun's hands. "And thank you for sharing some of your lovely experiences with me. I really appreciate it."
"Aniyo. It's nothing. I'm glad to be here as well." Seohyun smiled. "It's been a long time since I've last appeared on the television screen."
"Do contact us sometime. We should get together more often." Yonghwa added.
"Of course we should! I do meet Junsu hyung once in a while and he did mention about you and Seohyun." Jinwoon said.
"It's nice to meet like this. Just like old times." Yonghwa grinned.
"Yeah! True!" Jinwoon nodded his head in agreement.
Soon it was time for Yonghwa and Seohyun to leave. It was getting late and so the four friends bid goodbye to each other. Seohyun felt a little sad to go. Meeting Jinwoon and Nicole again was such a refreshing moment for her. It made her thought of her past and how it had changed her now. She did welcome the changes though, as long as Yonghwa was always right beside her. She smiled in satisfaction as she hugged her husband's arm tightly, as they walked hand-in-hand towards their car.

It's You
It's You
It was the night before Christmas. Seven year old Seo Joohyun was getting ready for bed. Her mother tucked her in, under her fluffy Keroro blanket and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. Her father did the same before bidding her good night and left the room.
The moment her parents were out of sight, little Joohyun kicked her blanket away and climbed down the bed. She walked towards the shelves of books situated at one corner of her room and pulled out a book. It was a new book, a Christmas present. Her mother had read it to her earlier, the story of Sleeping Beauty.
Seo Joohyun hugged the book close to her chest. She loved the book very much and she indeed loved the story very much. That was the first time she learnt about a bond between a boy and a girl which her mother had explained to her as love.
"The Prince finally reached the room where the beautiful Princess lay fast asleep. For a long time, he stood there gazing at her face, so full of serenity, so peaceful, lovely and pure, and he felt spring to his heart that love he had always been searching for but never found. Overcome by emotion, he went close, lifted the girl's fair hand and gently kissed it..." Her mother read to her with a sweet smile on her lips.
"At that kiss, the Princess suddenly opened her eyes, awakening from her long long sleep, seeing the Prince beside her, murmured: 'Oh! You have come at last! I was waiting for you in my dreams, I've waited so long...'"
When the story came to an end, curious Seo Joohyun had asked, "How do you know that the kiss is from the person you really love?"
Her mother had just laughed and replied, "You'll know darling, you'll know when you meet your correct Prince one day."
Seo Joohyun smiled upon remembering her mother's words. She placed the storybook back onto the shelf and went over to kneel down beside her bed. She clasped her hands together, closed her eyes and said, "Dear God, I am Seo Joohyun here. Omma told me that I will meet my very own Prince one day just like the Princess in my new story book. And the Princess knows that she loves the Prince the moment he kissed her hand. Please God, will you tell me if I've met the correct Prince through a kiss one day? Please, pretty pretty please... Thank you." Seohyun opened her eyes and smiled wide. "Good night God. And Merry Christmas to you!"
With that, the innocent seven year old girl went to sleep with a happy heart...
The story of Sleeping Beauty was forgotten over the years. As Seo Joohyun grew up, the tale of the Prince and the kiss slowly faded from her mind.
******
Thirteen years later...
It was the night before Christmas. Twenty year old Seo Joohyun and a certain Jung Yonghwa were busy decorating their Christmas tree. The duo were in high spirits and were laughing constantly.
Suddenly Seo Joohyun held up an ornament of a crown. "Look at this! How did this get in here?" She asked, observing the ornament closely.
"Ah! A crown! I should wear this and be a prince for now." Jung Yonghwa said as he took the crown from Seohyun and placed it on his head. "Do I look like a prince to you now?"
Seo Joohyun stood there looking a bit dumbfounded. Jung Yonghwa, wearing a crown on his head, suddenly looked very familiar to her.
"Hey! You're dreaming!" Jung Yonghwa waved a hand in front of her face, causing Seo Joohyun to jump in surprise.
"Ah? Ani. I was thinking for a moment." Seo Joohyun said quickly, trying to hide the surprise in her eyes.
"Yah! Look what I found! A mistletoe!" Jung Yonghwa held up an ornament of a mistletoe above their heads. "Aigoo! Now we have to kiss... It's a rule." Jung Yonghwa wiggled his eyebrows.
Seo Joohyun laughed out loud as she held out her hand towards Jung Yonghwa. "Okay, since you're a prince, you may kiss my hand."
"I'll be glad to." Yonghwa whispered, his voice suddenly a few octaves lower. He gently grasped the woman's hand in front of him and planted a soft kiss on it.
Seo Joohyun was speechless as she watched Jung Yonghwa bending down as he placed a kiss on her hand. His kiss was gentle, soft and warm. She felt her hand tingled from the kiss. Suddenly, a dozen of memories just came flooding through her mind........ Christmas eve, her mother reading a book, she smiling happily, she praying to God, the kiss, love, Sleeping Beauty....
"Oh! You come at last!" Seo Joohyun heard herself whispering, ever so softly, ever so carefully. "I was waiting for you in my dreams, I've waited so long. I love you, Jung Yonghwa."
Jung Yonghwa looked up, surprised, his hand still holding onto hers. "Hyun-ah? W-What are you saying?"
"I know what I am saying. I am very sure," Seo Joohyun dared her herself to look directly into his eyes. "I love you."
"Joohyun-ah..." Jung Yonghwa called out, pulling Seo Joohyun into a hug. He embraced her tight, trailing light kisses on the crown of her head. "I love you too. I've been in love with you since forever, I don't even know when it started!"
"Yonghwa-ya..." Seo Joohyun was indeed surprised with his confession and she wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging him even tighter. "You're my prince, I'm so sure it's you!"
"And you're my princess. It's you!" Jung Yonghwa whispered into her ear.
Seo Joohyun threw her gaze out, looking into the dark snowy sky, through their balcony transparent door. She smiled. 'Now I know. Thank you God.' Her heart wispered faintly. 'And Merry Christmas to you...'

Another Variety? Part I
Month 6
Week 24
"I would like to invite you to do a reality program with us again."
Yonghwa and Seohyun gaped. It was truly an unexpected proposal.
******
It was around 7.30pm in the evening when the doorbell to the Jung household rang. Yonghwa who was helping his pregnant wife, Seohyun, in the kitchen came running out to greet whoever was at the door. He thought it might be one of his CNBlue brothers as they were the only ones who would come to his house without telling him in advance. To them, their hyung's house was like a second dorm where they could chill and relax without being shy or embarassed.
Yonghwa grinned as he opened the door but only to be greeted by a half-bald headed man with a toothy smile. Yonghwa frowned. It was not the people he had expected.
"Annyohaesayo." The man greeted, bowing.
"Ye, annyohaesayo." Yonghwa replied as he too gave a bow to the man. "Um, may I help you?"
"Jung Yonghwa-ssi, it's been a long time. You don't recognize me do you?" The man asked, grinning.
Yonghwa scratched the back of his head. He really had no idea who the man was. "I'm sorry. I can't seem to remember. Have we met before?"
"Ah... It really has been a long time. I'm Kim Kanghee. We worked together during your 'We Got Married' filmings a few years ago." The man introduced himself. His eyes were cheerful and he looked really pleased to see Yonghwa.
"Kanghee-ssi? PD-nim?" Yonghwa's expression was suddenly bright. "Aigoo! I almost can't recognize you just now!"
Kanghee laughed. "I know you didn't, it's because of the hair isn't it?" Kanghee said.
"Aniyo. I'm sorry. Please come in." Yonghwa held out his hand and both men exchanged warm handshake. Yonghwa led Kanghee in and motioned for him to take a seat on the sofa.
"Yeobo-ya!" Seohyun called out from the kitchen. "Is it Jungshin chingoo? Or Jonghyun oppa?"
Yonghwa gave an embarassed cough. "Kanghee-ssi, please make yourself at home. I'll be back soon." Yonghwa excused himself and went into the kitchen to inform Seohyun of the guest.
"Hyun-ah!" Yonghwa whispered when he got close to Seohyun who was busy washing the dishes.
"Ah, wae? Why are you whispering?" Seohyun replied back in a whisper as well. Her eyes filled with amusement.
"Ani. It's neither Jungshin nor Jonghyun waiting outside." Yonghwa told her. Seohyun opened her mouth to retort but Yonghwa cut her in, "And it's not Minhyuk as well."
"Ah, sinchia? Then who is it?"
"It's Kanghee-ssi!" Yonghwa said, nodding his head.
"Kanghee-ssi? Sounds familiar." Seohyun pursed her lips.
"Kanghee-ssi! Our PD from WGM!" Yonghwa finally allowed himself to tell Seohyun, who portrayed a shocked expression as well.
"Sinchia?"
"Sinchia! And he's bald now!" Yonghwa grinned.
"Aigoo! You're so bad!" Seohyun returned the grin.
"He's at the living room now." Yonghwa said. "Make him something to drink. I'll be with him."
"Ahrasso." Seohyun watched as her husband stepped out of the kitchen. She quickly busied herself in making drinks for their guest.
******
"It's been so long! I'm so happy to see the two of you married for real!" Kanghee exclaimed, grinning wide.
"Ah? Gamsahamida." Seohyun replied, nodding her head politely.
"Aigoo! Seohyun-ssi is still the same." Kanghee looked at her fondly. He had always thought Seohyun as one of the most polite idol he had ever met. "Except for the round tummy of course."
"Ne." Seohyun beamed.
"Um, so what brings you here?" Yonghwa asked as he took a sip from his apple juice which Seohyun had graciously prepared.
"Well, you must have thought that I am intruding your personal space, and I am really sorry for that." Kanghee started. "But I have a proposal which I really hope that you won't reject."
Yonghwa and Seohyun looked over at Kanghee with curious expression. "What is it Kanghee-ssi?" Seohyun questioned him gently.
Kanghee took a deep breath and said, "I would like you to do a reality program for us again."
Yonghwa and Seohyun gaped. It was truly an unexpected proposal.
"Ne?" Yonghwa frowned.
"What do you mean?" Seohyun asked quickly.
"Okay, let me explain it to you first." Kanghee said. "This is actually going to be a documentary variety-reality show about pregnancy. Instead of just doing a boring documentary about pregnancy, I would like to do a documentary mixed with a bit of variety and reality, meaning I would like to have you both filmed of your pregnancy days while explaining to viewers the beauty of pregnancy."
Yonghwa and Seohyun looked at Kanghee with surprised expression. They were unsure on how to respond to him.
"So what do you think?" Kanghee asked as he clasped his hands together. His eyes danced merrily as he looked over at Yonghwa and Seohyun.
"I'm not sure, really, and I'm no longer an idol, I have not much popularity left, so I don't think this would work." Seohyun said, shaking her head.
Kanghee gasped in response. "Who says you're no longer popular? You're Seo Joohyun, a well-known author of children's stories and a popular composer for our children's songs! An ex member of the very popular group SNSD, a very popular idol! And guess what, people still remember you!" Kanghee told her, his eyes dancing with amusement. "And you know something, fans and netizens all around the world are still watching your episodes of WGM on our special WGM website! You're still remembered Seohyun-ssi!"
Seohyun gaped, still not able to believe the words which were coming out of Kanghee's mouth.
"And you Jung Yonghwa-ssi. You're an awesome composer! Every hit songs that I've heard of recently are mostly composed by you! You're still as popular as you were previously. And CNBlue is still alive! People won't forget this forever talented band!" Kanghee praised.
"Well, you think too highly of us." Yonghwa said, smiling sheepishly. He had his hand grasping onto Seohyun's.
"Ani. It's the truth." Kanghee nodded. "So how about it? Would you like to give it another shot? Relishing your WGM memories?"
Yonghwa looked at Seohyun, searching her eyes. She looked a bit reluctant but there were still flicker of curiosity in her expression. But Yonghwa knew better.
"Well Kanghee-ssi. We can't give you a straight answer now." Yonghwa told him. "Give us time to think about it."
"Hm, don't worry, I've expected you to say that anyway." Kanghee smiled, his eyes showing a bit of disappointment. "But nonetheless, thank you for listening me out. Here's my card. Do give me a call soon." Kanghee held out a namecard towards Yonghwa who accepted politely.
"Ah, ne. Thank you." Yonghwa bowed. Seohyun followed suit. "I will surely get back to you."
"Well, I believe I've said what I have to say." Kanghee grinned as he stood up. "So, I'll make a move first."
"Ah, ne. We'll see you out." Yonghwa replied.
Yonghwa and Seohyun stood up as well as the two of them led Kanghee to the door. They watched as the man put on his shoes.
"Anyway, how far are you along?" Kanghee asked as he motioned to Seohyun's stomach.
Seohyun smiled proudly. "Six months. Coming to seven soon."
"And ours is a girl!" Yonghwa added as he pulled Seohyun into a side-hug. Kanghee smiled. He was really touched to see the love and closeness of the two people in front of him as he was of course, one of those people who made them meet in the first place and fate does the rest.
Kanghee bid goodbye to the couple and left.
******
Yonghwa was lying down on the bed, reading the book, leaning against the head board, while Seohyun was busy combing her hair in front of her dressing table. Both of them were trying to put their full concentration on the things which they were doing currently. They remained quiet, at the same time thinking of what Kanghee had said earlier.
Suddenly, their eyes met through Seohyun's dressing table's mirror. They smiled and immediately stopped whatever they were doing. Seohyun climbed onto the bed, straight into Yonghwa's waiting arms. His book thrown aside onto the side table.
"So how?" Yonghwa asked as he kissed the crown of Seohyun's head.
"You were thinking too?" Seohyun asked back, looking up into Yonghwa's peaceful eyes. She snuggled closer into his embrace.
"Ne. The conversation earlier with Kanghee is still playing on my mind." Yonghwa told Seohyun, his fingers playing with the ends of her hair. "It's quite a tempting offer."
"Ne. I know." Seohyun nodded, sighing. "If we were to do it, it's going to be like before, our filming of We Got Married days."
"Yes. It's nice to remember, don't you think?" Yonghwa smiled. "Even with the cameras around us, it's so nice just to be with you."
"Ne. I always look forward to our filming days." Seohyun replied, turning her head to kiss Yonghwa's jaw. "You're the first man to enter my heart. And the last."
"Sinchia?" Yonghwa chuckled before sighing. "So how now? It's a good chance to relish our past moments."
Seohyun nodded but her long pout gave her answer away and Yonghwa understood her extremely well. "But it'll evade our privacy."
"Yes love." Yonghwa grinned. "So we're dismissing it?"
Seohyun sighed again. "Yes, please."
"Ahrasso. I'll tell Kanghee tomorrow." Yonghwa told her, grinning.
"It's just, I want just us to go through this together, as in just us, you and me and our baby. Not put on a poker face in front of the camera and pretend everything's going smoothly." Seohyun babbled causing Yonghwa to laughed out loud.
"You don't want people to see the scary side of you during your pregnancy isn't it? Like the time we went to Japan?" Yonghwa teased.
"Yeobo!" Seohyun glared at her husband. Her fingers were fast in pinching his waist causing him to yelped out in pain.
"Ahrasso, ahrasso. Mianhe!"
"You better stop teasing me." Seohyun folded her arms and pouted. Her nose flared slightly causing Yonghwa to grinned wider.
"Ahrasso." Yonghwa tilted Seohyun's face towards him and rest his forehead on hers. "I'm just joking okay. I love you."
"Okay." Seohyun replied softly as she leaned in to kiss Yonghwa firmly on the lips.
******
The next day, Yonghwa gathered up the courage to give in a call to Kim Kanghee to inform him of his and Seohyun's decision. Of course, Kanghee was disappointed that the YongSeo couple turned down his offer.
"Okay, then let me give you another proposal. Please, I hope you'll accept it." Kanghee pleaded.
Yonghwa sighed. He was not sure where this would lead him next. "Okay, what is it?" Yonghwa finally asked.
"Actually we have found an alternative couple to do this program with us, in case you guys rejected our offer, which you did anyway." Kanghee said. "So, all I ask is that you and Seohyun make a visit to our selected couple on one of their filming days just to share with them your experience during your pregnancy period. They are in their early pregnancy stage, so you could offer them some tips during the process. So you'll act as their guest, only for one episode. Is it okay?"
Yonghwa was thinking quietly. Kanghee's offer this time was somewhat reasonable. Yonghwa felt guilty for rejecting his offer earlier. To reject it the second time, it was really heartless. It would not hurt to appear in just one episode right?
"Okay. I accept." Yonghwa said, somewhat uncertainly. He still had yet to discuss about this with Seohyun. He sighed. "Still, it's because of you, Seohyun and I are now happily married. Somehow you're the one who arranged for us to be a couple. For that, I thank you."
"Hah! I've known all along, you'll be real one day!" Kanghee exclaimed, laughing. "Anyway, thank you Yonghwa-ya! Thank you so much!"
Yonghwa laughed nervously. He needed to inform Seohyun soon. "May I know who's the other couple? Husband and wife as well?"
"Well, of course! But she's three months pregnant." Kanghee told him.
"Sinchia? Are they someone we know?"
"Well, you might. He was one of the host in WGM. Jinwoon-ssi." Kanghee said.
"Oh! Jinwoonie? You mean Nicole-ssi's pregnant now? Wow!" Yonghwa exclaimed. He knew Jinwoon had married Nicole a year after his and Seohyun's marriage. They attended Jinwoon's wedding of course! But it had been so long since they last contacted each other. Each of them busy with family life and with their personal work.
"Yeah. So now, they'll be in the program, We Are Expecting!. I will contact you later on the details okay?"
"Okay. Catch you later." Yonghwa smiled as he put down the phone. Now the only thing he needed to do was to tell Seohyun of their decision; technically his decision. He thought he would be having a hard time explaining to Seohyun. But it turned out that she did not mind appearing in the program for just an episode. And she was actually excited to know that they were going to be guests to her old friend, Jinwoon and his wife, Nicole. Yonghwa was indeed relieved.

Month 6
Week 26
"Did Kanghee-ssi give you the right address?" Seohyun asked. She watched as her husband parked their car into an empty parking lot just beside a tall apartment building.
"Of course love. We're here finally!" Yonghwa grinned. He exited the car and quickly walked to over to open the car door for Seohyun to help her out of the car.
"Komawo Yeobo-ya." Seohyun tilted her head and smiled sheepishly. Her aegyo dropping simultaneously.
"Aigoo! Why do you have to be so cute even when you're pregnant?" Yonghwa laughed as he planted a kiss on her chubby cheek.
Seohyun grinned. "Don't forget the gifts."
"Ahrasso. Wait for me." Yonghwa retrieved a neatly wrapped package from the backseat before locking the car. Then he walked over to Seohyun whom immediately grabbed his arm and together they walked towards the lobby of the apartment.
"Annyohaesayo! Yonghwa-ssi? Seohyun-ssi?" A man wearing a bright yellow cap greeted them. "I am Dongwook, Mr Kim's assistant. He told me to wait for you here."
"Annyohaesayo." Yonghwa and Seohyun greeted.
"Mr Kim is expecting you. Shall we go up?"
"Ah, ne. Let's go." Yonghwa replied as he pulled Seohyun to him and followed the man towards the elevator.
"Have they started filming?" Seohyun asked.
"Ne. They are just waiting for their guests to arrive." Dongwook answered, smiling nervously. Seohyun noticed.
"Do you know us?" Seohyun asked again as the three of them entered the elevator.
"Ne. I was your fan during your WGM days." Dongwook replied, his head bowed low.
"Ah sinchia?" Yonghwa grinned.
"I was really hoping for the two of you to really end up together. And you did!" Dongwook said excitedly. "I was very happy when you announced that you were going out for real."
"Oh? Gamsahamnida..." Seohyun said.
"Seohyun-ssi is very pretty. You look even prettier when you're pregnant here." Dongwook told her shyly.
"Ah, really? Gamsahamnida." Seohyun bowed her head.
"Yeah, she's pretty because she's my wife." Yonghwa added causing Seohyun to frown at his childishness.
"Don't mind him. He's a choding." Seohyun whispered to Dongwook who grinned wide.
"Ya!" Yonghwa glared playfully at his wife who was laughing out uncontrollably.
Finally the elevator door opened at the tenth floor. Dongwook stepped out first, leading the couple. There was a cameraman and another staff waiting just outside the elevator and the cameraman started filming Yonghwa and Seohyun the moment they stepped out.
"Annyohaesayo." Yonghwa and Seohyun greeted the staff and the cameraman. "Ah, should we ring the bell?"
"Ne." Dongwook said.
Yonghwa pressed the bell and both of them waited for a few minutes before the door swung open showing Jinwoon in his orange shirt and jeans. He looked shocked for a moment before smiling wide.
"Aigoo! So you're our guests for today!" Jinwoon exclaimed. He was looking very excited to see his old friends and so were Yonghwa and Seohyun.
"Jinwoon-ah! How are you man?" Yonghwa shook Jinwoon's hand and gave him a manly one arm hug.
"I'm great!" Jinwoon answered as he escorted the couple in. Then his eyes swayed over to Seohyun and he gave a slight chuckle. "Seohyunnie! You're getting big I see!"
"Aigoo. There's no need to remind me." Seohyun threw him a slit eyed stare, grinning at the same time.
Jinwoon led them to the living room where Yonghwa and Seohyun finally met with Kanghee and the rest of the crew. All of them greeted each other and the filming resumed.
"Where's Nicole?" Seohyun asked as she looked around.
"Ah, she's in the toilet." Jinwoon informed. "Eversince she's gotten pregnant, she loves visiting the toilet frequently. It's quite irritating sometimes."
"Yeah, I know." Yonghwa added, earning a glare from Seohyun. "Anyway, here's a small gift from us." Yonghwa handed Jinwoon the gift which he and Seohyun had prepared.
"Aigoo. Komawoyo." Jinwoon smiled gratefully.
"It's herbal drinks. Good for pregnant women. I drink it too." Seohyun said, smiling.
"Daebak! You're still the same Seohyun-ah!" Jinwoon held up his two thumbs up.
"I was forced to drink one of those too." Yonghwa sighed, shaking his head.
"Aish! You know it's good for you!" Seohyun pat his shoulder lightly, causing Jinwoon to laugh.
"Omo! Our guests are here?" The three friends turned to see Nicole grinning wide at them.
"Ne, anniyohaesayo!" Yonghwa, Seohyun and Nicole greeted each other simultaneously.
"It's a nice surprise!" Nicole exclaimed as she hurried over towards Seohyun to give her a warm hug. "Seohyun-ah, how far are you along?"
"Coming to seven soon! What about you?"
"Three, coming to four soon!" Nicole said.
The filming went on smoothly. Yonghwa, Seohyun, Jinwoon and Nicole started exchanging stories of the first time they got to know of the pregnancy, what were their feelings they felt during that time, how was their reactions, what the things they started to prepare and so on.
"Jinwoon actually fainted when I told him I was pregnant!" Nicole said.
Seohyun laughed out, unable to imagine the situation. "Ommo! Sichia?"
"Ne!"
"Wae? I was shocked that time!" Jinwoon grinned, bowing his head in embarassment. The two pregnant ladies continue laughing and spazzing about babies and their husbands whereas Yonghwa and Jinwoon just looked at each other and shrugged.
"Actually, we received a mission earlier." Nicole said suddenly. Her eyes were trained on the pair of husbands sitting in front of her. Jinwoon sighed out loud the moment he heard the word mission from Nicole.
"Ah wae?" Yonghwa asked Jinwoon, who was now slouching.
"Let's hear it again from Nicole." Jinwoon told him.
"Ja-jann!" Nicole held out the mission envelope. She opened it up and started reading. "Today's mission. Husbands of the pregnant wives are to become chefs for the day. You are going to cook two types of healthy food fit for pregnant women. Ingredients are already prepared inside the fridge and kitchen cabinets. You are given only two hours to prepare the food. The pregnant wives are given the chance to relax and order your husbands around. Mission will start the moment the soon-to-be-fathers put on their aprons. Good luck husbands!"
Yonghwa had a shocked expression on his face and joined Jinwoon in the 'slouching mode'. Seohyun looked pretty happy about the mission, same goes for Nicole.
"So now we have to cook?" Yonghwa asked.
"Yes, we are." Jinwoon replied pouting.
"Fighting!" Seohyun cheered. "Pali! Get the aprons! I'm starting to get hungry!"
Soon, Seohyun and Nicole helped their husbands to put on the aprons and shoved the two guys into the kitchen. Yonghwa and Jinwoon turned to look at their wives with their cute pouts and sad expressions but Seohyun and Nicole just laughed it off and Nicole pulled Seohyun over to the couch to have some women talk.
To be continued....

Her Voice
It was almost four in the morning and he still was not able to catch even a wink of sleep. He tossed and turned but he just could not get into that sleep mode. Yonghwa sighed out loud. He sat up on the bed and gave a thorough glance around the room. Dark.
Yonghwa could hear the faint sounds of snores coming from different directions of the house. 'At least they could sleep.' Yonghwa sniggered as he got off from the bed and fumbled with the switch to turn on the lights.
The sudden brightness of the room greeted his eyes with a pang. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked around the room. All his things were in place, neat and tidy; thanks to Jungshin who worked hard to clean up his room before Seohyun arrived earlier that afternoon.
Yonghwa chuckled to himself as he allowed his mind to think about the things which happened in his room earlier. Seohyun in his room, talking, laughing, singing and even writing the Banmal song with him. It was very special. She was the first girl to ever enter his room. To sit beside him while he did his work. To observe him while he compose his songs. She was the first.
Yonghwa smiled as he sat himself on his work chair and turned his laptop on. His eyes landed on the piece of paper Seohyun had used to write the lyrics of the song. He held it in front of his face and grinned. The honesty of her words really described her personality. She was a sincere person, trustworthy, loyal. She was just typical Seohyun, who would not lie when conveying her messages. Her believes were unique and he respected that.
Yonghwa traced his finger on a heart shape drawing on the paper. Seohyun drew that, he knew. Was that her heart? Was she trying to tell him something which comes from her heart? If only he knew what was inside her heart. If only he could read those words in her heart. If only he could understand her heart. He knew he could not, as she disguised her heart very well.
It was four thirty in the morning. Yonghwa fiddled with his laptop, looking for the music file he had saved from the recordings he and Seohyun did in the afternoon. He found them under the title : URI SARANG. Yonghwa opened the file and let allowed the songs to play.
Her voice filled up the room. Her voice soft. She was not talking or anything, just laughing. Yonghwa closed his eyes. Her laughter sounds like bells to his ears. Very welcoming, soothing, practically calming. It was nice. Her voice was making him relaxed. He body was getting weaker. He lost to her voice.
"A ah? Testing, microphone test, 1,2,3." Seohyun's recorded voice filled the room suddenly causing Yonghwa to open his eyes in shock. He thought that the real Seohyun was in his room at that moment. Yonghwa eyed his laptop, confused.
"Yong oppa? Hehe! I know this is being recorded. I want to say sorry first for recording this without your permission." Seohyun's voice said again. Yonghwa continued to listen hard. "It's just, you're in the toilet for so long and I'm just bored."
Yonghwa shook his head grinning.
"Anyway, I just want to tell you something. Um, a quite embarassing thing actually, for me." Yonghwa heard a bit of fumbling in the background of the recording. "Sorry, I just dropped the mic." Yonghwa grimaced. "Aigoo! Does my voice sounds funny to you? Oh sorry. Back to this, I just want to say thank you for writing that Banmal song for me and making it our couple song. I enjoy doing all these with you. The memories are really precious to me. Hm, I want to say, you're a great husband and um, you're great."
Yonghwa frowned. What was she doing? Just recording her voice to tell him he's great?
"Oh ya! Another thing, um, uh, saranghae."
With that, the recording ended. Yonghwa gaped. It was certainly a confession, he must admit, from that voice of an angel saying 'I love you' to him. That voice which held so much power to control his nerve systems.
And now, that voice just stunned him at five in the morning.

Prequel Set 5 - Princess
Finally, I'm done with Prequel Set 5. Firstly I would like to say thank you, thank you, thank you to YSJS unnie for sharing her pregnancy stories with me, about her cravings and behaviour while being pregnant. With her help, I was able to produce Prequel Set 4 with ease. Sinchia gamsahamida unnie!
For Prequel Set 5 here, I've included a few more couples. Most of the couples were mentioned earlier in Prequel Set 1 and 2, like Junsu/Hyoyeon couple and Joongki/Tiffany couple. I've matched Taeyeon up with Korea's waterboy - Park Taehwan-ssi. I love watching him when he competes in swimming competition especially during the Asian Games; I was practically screaming his name! lol
I've also included their children in here... Junsu/Hyoyeon - son (Kim Jaebum), Joongki/Tiffany - son (Song Kibum), Taehwan/Taeyeon - girl twins (Park Yoonhee & Park Yoonah).
And I hope you'd enjoy reading Set 5 here :) Happy reading everyone!
Prequel Set 5 - Princess
Month: 6
Week: 22
It was a blissful Sunday morning. Seohyun was up early and busied herself in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. She had even cleaned the house and did the laundry. It was afterall a sunny and peaceful Sunday. Her heart felt light and her emotions were soaring up high. She was definitely feeling very content.
When she was done with making breakfast, Seohyun rushed to her room to see if her husband had awakened or not. She smiled to see Yonghwa still sleeping soundly and had no intention of waking up so soon. She decided to let him sleep a little longer.
She danced her way through the corridors of her house in her pink satin nightgown, like an angel who descended on Earth to create happiness. Her footsteps were light and they stopped in front of a closed white coloured door, with paintings of rainbows and flowers on it. Seohyun grinned excitedly as she opened the door and peeked in.
Seohyun was greeted by the bright and cooling colours of the room. The blue ceiling and pink walls made her feel calm. The nursery was practically ready, just waiting for the arrival of the baby, which will come soon enough.
Seohyun waltzed around the room, allowing her hands to brush against the baby cot and smoothness of the soft mattress in the cot. Seohyun smiled before shifting her hands to caress her stomach.
"Darling, omma's in your room right now." Seohyun whispered, smiling. "I can just feel your presence here."
Seohyun walked over to the cupboard, opening it, and pulled out two pieces of photographs from the ultrasound scanning she did a few days ago to find out the gender of her baby. She held in her breath as she continued to look at the photos, the silhouette pictures of her baby in her womb. She giggled. She could still remember how Yonghwa had jumped for joy when Doctor Kim told them that they were going to be proud parents of a little baby girl.
Seohyun grinned. Indeed she could feel the happiness surrounding her the moment she knew that she was going to give birth to a daughter, not just a daughter, but a princess Yonghwa had said. It was indeed a very happy moment for the both of them.
******
"Can you believe it Hyun, we're going to be parents soon!" Yonghwa exclaimed, the moment they stepped out of Doctor Kim's private clinic.
"That time, we were still unaware of our baby's gender. Now that we know! Aish! I'm so excited!" Yonghwa said as he grasped her hand and kissed it tenderly. "Komawo Hyun-ah, sinchia komawo."
Seohyun laughed, enjoying the attention Yonghwa was giving her. "Let's think of a name for our daughter shall we?"
"Yes! Let's do that together!" Yonghwa beamed proudly as he held Seohyun's hand tight, walking down the road home together.
******
"It's a nice day don't you think?" Yonghwa asked as he fed himself the last mouthful of rice.
"Ne. Do you have plans today?" Seohyun asked, watching her husband finished his breakfast.
"I was thinking of going for a picnic in the park later." Yonghwa said. "It's good for pregnant mothers to enjoy the fresh air once in a while you know. How about it?"
Seohyun puckered her lips, thinking. "Hm, it's a great idea actually."
Yonghwa clapped his hands together. "Ahrasso! It's a date then!"
Seohyun laughed. "What do you mean a date? It is always us together."
"Wae? Is it wrong for me to say we're going for a date in the park? When our daughter comes along, it'll be difficult to spend some time alone together, what more to go on dates. So let's just treat all our time together alone as dates, while we still can."
"Ahrasso." Seohyun grinned as she stood up to start clearing the table.
"I will clear the table later." Yonghwa stopped her. "And I will prepare the food for the picnic. You just go and rest."
"Aniyo yeobo!" Seohyun said. "Let me do it."
"Shiro. You put the plates down, I'll do it."
"Let me do it. It'll be boring if I just sit outside and rest..."
"Then go and write your kid's story or kid's song then."
"Andwae. I want to help you..." Seohyun whined.
"Shiro. You did enough already. You prepare breakfast, did the laundry and you even cleaned the house. That's tiring." Yonghwa's face was stern. He seriously did not expect Seohyun to be doing so much work on a Sunday when he was still in bed. That was his job to do since she was already in the sixth month of pregnancy. He really did not want anything to happen which could hurt her or their baby.
Upon looking at Yonghwa's expression and hearing his serious tone, Seohyun nodded her head. Her pout was definitely visible on her lips. "Ahrasso."
"That's a good girl." Yonghwa said smiling as he watched Seohyun walked out of the kitchen with a hunched back.
******
It was around 3 p.m. in the afternoon when Yonghwa and Seohyun reached the park which was situated just a few blocks away from their house. The park was quiet and calm, just the way Seohyun liked it.
The couple walked hand in hand until they stopped near a shady grass patch overlooking a lake, where they could see a few ducks and a couple of swans swimming freely. Yonghwa then laid out a mat on the grass. Seohyun took off her shoes and stepped on the mat lightly before sitting down. Yonghwa did the same and sat down beside her while arranging their picnic basket which was ladened with food and drinks on the mat as well.
"Aigoo... There's way too much food for us." Seohyun sighed shaking her head. "It's going to be wasted."
"Ani. I'm sure it'll finish fast." Yonghwa told her as he threw his gaze towards the open lake.
"Eyy? You're going to eat it all up?"
"Ani. But you'll see." Yonghwa gave a wink.
"Aish sinchia... I don't understand you." Seohyun laughed.
Yonghwa watched as Seohyun threw her head back and laughed. He could not help but thought that Seohyun was the most beautiful woman in the world and how lucky he was to marry her. Then he noticed the few favourite things he loved about Seohyun, the sparkling eyes of hers that he was never tired of looking. That pouty lips of hers that he was never tired of kissing. That soft delicate hands of hers, he was never tired of holding, the way she caressed his hair, his face, with full of love and concern. That long, sweet-scented hair of hers, he was never tired of touching, never tired of smelling. Those things which belonged to Seohyun were pratically his life. His life depended on them too much.
There was a time when Seohyun decided to spend a night at Yoona's place together with some of her unnies, for a girls' night sleepover. It was the most horrible night for Yonghwa. Even though physically and verbally he gave her the permission to go, but emotionally he was not able to let go her. He could still remember how he tossed and turned in his bed that night, unable to sleep. His hands kept touching her side of the bed, even though he knew she was not there. And after that incident, he never allowed his Hyun out for the night again even though she was with someone who was able to keep her safe.
Yonghwa chuckled at his silliness, causing Seohyun to turn to look at him. She grinned. "Wae? Something funny?" She asked, tilting her head to one side.
"Ani, I'm just thinking how lucky I am to have met you..." Yonghwa told her, as he lowered his head down on her lap, laying down. He looked up into her face and smiled.
"We're both lucky to meet each other." Seohyun said as she stroked her husband's hair tenderly. "We're fated to meet in the first place. I still remember that first time I met you."
"Me too." Yonghwa held up his hand and caressed Seohyun's cheek. "The moment I saw you, I felt my heart bursting with emotions. And I believe, it's love at first sight!"
"Aigoo... You guys made me confused on our first date!" Seohyun giggled. "I really thought Jungshin was my husband."
"But you chose me remember? With that Keroro blanket? You made the correct choice!" Yonghwa exclaimed as he grinned sheepishly.
"Eyyy!" Seohyun blushed, hitting him lightly on the shoulder. Yonghwa smiled as he continued to look at his wife's facial expression. Seohyun had her eyes closed, enjoying the light breeze.
Yonghwa brought his eyes down slowly towards her belly which was just right beside his head. He turned his body to the side and had his hand on her stomach, caressing it lightly. He was amazed to know that his baby girl was in there, living, breathing. Yonghwa leaned forward and kissed Seohyun's stomach over her pink cardigan. Seohyun smiled. She loved watching an affectionate Yonghwa.
"I love you." Seohyun said stroking Yonghwa's cheek lovingly.
"I love you too. Forever." Yonghwa replied, sitting up and kissed her lips softly, passionately. There were no one else in the park, only them.
"Are you guys kissing?!"
Yonghwa and Seohyun broke apart to see a boy, about the age of four, looking at them with curiosity in his eyes. There was something familiar about him, with his dreamy eyes and his perfectly pouted lips, wavy brown hair...
"Aigoo! Jaebum-ah!" Seohyun exclaimed, standing up quickly, holding out her hands to the boy.
"Imo Seohyun!" Jaebum ran into Seohyun's embrace, grinning excitedly.
"How come you're here?" Seohyun held the boy out an arm's length to look at him closely. "Are you lost?"
"No he isn't. He's here with us!" Seohyun looked up to see Hyoyeon smirking at her. She was walking hand-in-hand with her husband Kim Junsu.
"Unnie!" Seohyun squealed. "How come you're here?"
"Well, ask him. He told us to come over." Hyoyeon pouted her lips towards Yonghwa who stood up as well to greet their friends.
"Yeobo-ya! You invited them?" Seohyun looked at Yonghwa questioningly.
"Ne. It's fun to be with friends in the park, playing together." Yonghwa said as he lifted Jaebum up onto his shoulders.
"Aigoo... I did not expect this." Seohyun went towards Hyoyeon and gave her a hug. Her eyes started tearing up.
"Aish sinchia! No crying today okay?" Hyoyeon warned her. "I've heard a lot of stories from Yonghwa about you and your tears. I was so worried."
"You'd better listen to her Seohyun-ah." Junsu said.
"Don't scare her will you." Hyoyeon pat her husband's arm lightly, laughing as she did so.
"Don't worry oppa. I've lived with her for a few good years. I'm immune to her style." Seohyun said, smiling again.
"And we're immune to your style too!" Tiffany and Taeyeon exclaimed appearing out of nowhere, walking towards the group. They hopped onto the picnic mat excitedly and straight away went over to Seohyun to give her a hug as well.
"Taeng unnie! Fany unnie!" Seohyun was awed. "You're here too?"
"Not just us," Taeyeon told her. "But the whole family's here too."
And true enough, Seohyun saw Tiffany's husband, Song Joongki, and Taeyeon's husband, Park Taehwan, together with their children walking towards them. Baby Kibum was in Joongki's arms whereas Taehwan was holding on tight to his playful twin girls, Yoonhee and Yoonah. Seohyun squealed excitedly as she hugged her nieces and nephew.
Yonghwa slid next to Seohyun and planted a kiss on her cheek. "Surprise!"
"Yeobo! What is this?" Seohyun asked.
"Just a family day, together with our friends. You like it don't you?"
"I love it! How exciting!" Seohyun grinned as she returned a kiss on her husband's cheek.
It was totally a surprising afternoon for Seohyun. Her unnies were here with her in the park, together with their own families. It made Seohyun even happier. She was able to chat together with her unnies, sharing her pregnancy stories with them, about the nursery, her cravings and of course not forgetting the baby photographs from her ultrasound scan.
The wives started to squeal in excitement the moment they looked at the photos which Seohyun had brought. The husbands on the other hand were busy talking about sports which include swimming (because there was an international swimmer amongst them) and soccer. The rest of the children were playing among themselves, running around the park whereas baby Kibum was fast asleep in Tiffany's arms.
"Let's play water gun? How about it?" Joongki suddenly voiced out. He had a very sly expression on his face.
"Water gun? I'm on!" Junsu grinned. "But where to get the water guns?"
"I have them in the car." Joongki told them, receiving a two thumbs up from Junsu.
"But I did not bring any extra clothes." Taehwan said, his face looking worried. "I don't think Taeyeon packed any."
"Who cares? I didn't bring any extra clothes either!" Junsu said.
"It doesn't matter. Are you in or not?" Joongki asked again. Taehwan nodded in agreement. "Yonghwa, you?"
"I'm cool with it. But we cannot play too near to them." Yonghwa pointed to the wives. "Seohyun might get wet."
"Of course! You think I want my son to get wet too?" Joongki gave Yonghwa a playful pat on his shoulder.
"Alright! Joongki-ah, go get the stuff!" Junsu said with his Satoori accent causing the other males to laugh.
******
"What are they up to now?" Tiffany asked as she squinted her eyes towards the husbands who were whispering animatedly.
"Hm, they look as if they're planning something." Seohyun said as she pouted her lips.
"Whatever they're planning, it must be my husband's idea." Tiffany said knowingly,
"Aigoo. It must be something fun then!" Hyoyeon shook her head. "Look at the way Junsu oppa's grinning.
"Let them be. As long as we're able to chat among us." Taeyeon said as she took out a banana from one of the picnic baskets and started munching on it.
Seohyun and her unnies started to unpack the food which they had prepared from home and called their children over to eat. The husbands were suddenly nowhere to be seen.
******
Joongki shouted excitedly, as he ran through the park, passing the wives who were enjoying the picnic snacks, while holding a water rifle in his hands. Soon, Yonghwa was seen, his clothes half-wet, trying to hide himself behind a tree. He too was holding a water gun in his hands.
"What are they doing with the water guns?" Hyoyeon asked, her expression surprised.
"I think they're playing. That's what I do with Joongki oppa when we go out to the park." Tiffany said, nodding her head. Her hands were busy patting baby Kibum gently.
"Bo? Aren't there many people in the park?" Taeyeon gaped. "You guys are crazy."
Tiffany grinned slyly. "The parks we usually go to, are very remote. So there's not many people."
"Jeongmal? Then you guys just spray water at each other?" Seohyun was getting very curious.
"Well, we play tag and we do spray water on each other. A lot, I tell you." Tiffany shrugged. "And we tend to get excited, then we kissed, you know the usual stuff."
"Ommo! Don't tell me..." Hyoyeon held her hand on her mouth, a knowing look in her eyes.
"You guys make out? In the park?!" Taeyeon exclaimed in horror. Suddenly the park was quiet, even the husbands stopped in their little game for a while as all eyes were trained on Taeyeon. Joongki grinned sheepishly before aiming his water rifle towards Junsu who was busy paying attention to the wives' conversation.
"Sssh! Unnie! You want to tell the whole world?" Tiffany lowered her voice down, suddenly feeling a bit embarrased. Baby Kibum stirred but did not wake up. "We didn't do it the park for goodness sake! What if fans saw us? We're dead!"
"Then?" This time, it was Seohyun who asked.
"Well, there's a reason we have a car don't we?" Tiffany smirked.
"Aigoo. This is so wrong. I can't continue to hear it!" Taeyeon shook her head as if trying to shake out everything that she heard earlier. Seohyun and Hyoyeon laughed.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a squirt of water landed onto Taeyeon's head, causing her to shriek out loud. All eyes turned to see her daughter, Yoonhee holding a water gun and had aimed it at her mother. She gave a toothy grin and quickly ran towards her father and her twin sisters who were laughing excitedly.
"I'm going to get you Yoonhee-ah!" Taeyeon exclaimed, laughing, as she chased after her daughters and her husband.
Hyoyeon grinned. "I'm going to look for Junsu oppa and Jaebummie before they go and shoot me with water!" The dancing queen got up and started running around the park, but not long before she was found by her husband and son and they too started shooting water at her.
"Hyunnie-ah, take care of Kibum for me, I'll be right back." Tiffany handed her sleeping baby towards Seohyun, who accepted it right away.
"You're not getting yourself wet and going to the car aren't you?" Seohyun asked, grinning mischievously.
"Aish! Sinchia! No such thoughts right now!" Tiffany grinned before running towards her husband to grab the water rifle from his hand.
Soon, the three families started shooting water at each other as if they were in a war zone. But they were careful enough not to shoot water near their picnic mat. Seohyun just smiled and laughed as she watched her unnies and their families having fun.
"Are you happy?" Yonghwa whispered into her ear from behind. He had hid himself pretty well from the other water gun holders before he managed to sneak up towards Seohyun.
"Aish! Sinchia! You scare me." Seohyun gasped, holding a hand up to her chest. She turned her head to look at Yonghwa and frowned.
"Sorry." Yonghwa grinned.
"Aigoo! You're wet." Seohyun shook her head in dismay as she took in Yonghwa's dishevelled state.
Yonghwa shrugged. "Oh! Kibum's here! Can I hold him?"
"Andwae. Let him sleep." Seohyun warned as she pat Kibum gently. "You're wet anyway. He'll catch a cold if you were to hold him.
"Ahrasso. Then just let me look at him." Yonghwa pouted as he latch his chin onto Seohyun's shoulder, looking at Kibum who was still sound asleep.
"Ours will definitely be a princess anyway." Yonghwa mumbled.
******
It was almost dusk when the families started to pack up to go home. The children were quickly changed into dry clothes so as not to catch a cold. Even Tiffany had changed into something dry before holding out her hands towards baby Kibum who was crying the moment he woke up. He had woken up to see the unfamiliar faces of Seohyun and Yonghwa which scared him ultimately.
The minute he was in his mother's arms, his cries stopped immediately and Seohyun gave a clap of amusement.
"Wah! That was fast!" Seohyun had said, her eyes wide.
"He is able to recognize people already. His caretaker and us." Joongki said as he planted a kiss on Kibum's forehead.
"Ne. He'll cry if he sees anyone unfamiliar carrying him." Tiffany added smiling.
"Aigoo. We have a lot to learn." Yonghwa sighed.
"Don't worry, as time goes by, you'll know and understand." Junsu pat Yonghwa on the shoulder. "We had to learn too when we first had Jaebum."
"Yeah. The learning process is the best, believe me." Hyoyeon smiled assuringly.
"You'll learn from your mistakes, we all did." Taehwan spoke up, giving an encouraging smile towards Yonghwa and Seohyun.
"Fighting!" Taeyeon held out a hand in front of them in mid-air. Slowly, everybody started to understand and they too held out theirs. After everybody (including Jaebum, Yoonhee and Yoonah) had placed their hands in on top of each other's, and all of them started to cheer...
"FIGHTING!"
With her unnies encouragement and her friends' support, Seohyun smiled, feeling even happier than before.
******
"Yeobo-ya..." Seohyun whispered out into the darkness.
"Hm?" Yonghwa replied with his eyes closed. He pulled Seohyun closer to his chest, hugging her from behind as they lied down on bed, ready to sleep.
"Thank you for today. I had fun." Seohyun said as she snuggled up into her husband's embrace.
"It was nothing. The main thing is you enjoyed yourself." Yonghwa told her. "Especially after the hard time you've been through, the cravings especially."
"I know. But you know what, everything stopped the moment I saw our daughter on the ultrasound scanning screen. That really made me happy."
"Me too. I'm really, really happy Hyun-ah." Yonghwa said, kissing her neck.
"Yeobo. I think I know what to name our princess." Seohyun turned her face a little towards her husband.
"Hm, when did you think of the name?"
"Just now, while watching them playing water guns."
Yonghwa laughed. "Okay, tell me."
Seohyun took a deep breath. "Jung..."
"Jung?" Yonghwa squinted his eyes a little to study Seohyun's face through the darkness.
"Jung Ha-Na." Seohyun whispered excitedly.
"Jung Ha-Na?"
"Ne. Jung Ha-Na. What do you think?"
"Hm, Jung Ha-Na... I love it! It's cute!" Yonghwa said grinning. "Fit for a princess..."
"I thought so too..."
The cool night air brushed against their skins as they allowed sleep to claim them. They dreamt of a future together, a future they would learn to enjoy, together with a certain Jung Ha-Na.
Addicted
Seohyun is becoming an addict. Of course if you know her well enough, you would already have known she is addicted to sweet potatoes, self-improvement books, keroro, piano, etc, etc.
But recently, she has developed something new to be addicted to; holding Jung Yonghwa's hands. The moment they get together to film their virtual marriage life on WGM, her eyes will definitely project themselves towards his hands. Those perfect, tender hands of his.
Just like now, they are sitting side by side by the darkened shores of the beach, enjoying the evening breeze. The WGM crew are getting busy wrapping up the filming, packing their stuff somewhat a distance away from the couple.
As usual, Seohyun's eyes will pretend to look at the night sky, observing the crescent moon. Then gradually, her eyes shift themselves lower and lower until they find what they are actually looking for; his hands.
Yonghwa is oblivious. He is busy fingering the sand which is spread out underneath their feet. He is feeling content, smiling upon remembering the events that occured earlier today. Today is his favourite day. The day he and Seohyun never feeling awkward towards each other.
Yonghwa, still smiling, looks up. That is when he notices Seohyun looking at his hands. Whenever he moves his hands, her eyes will definitely follow the movement. Yonghwa grins as he thinks of an idea to tease her.
Yonghwa sighs out loud and stops playing with the sand. He rubs both his hands together to brush off the remains of the sand. He is still aware of Seohyun's starings on his hands.
"Do you have a wet wipes?" Yonghwa asks suddenly, not looking at her.
Seohyun jumps out of her reverie, straight away looking at Yonghwa. She is worried of getting caught by him as it will be quite embarassing. But to her relief, Yonghwa looks unaware. "Ne." Seohyun replies as she opens her bag and grabs a packet of wet tissues to pass it to him.
"Komawo." Yonghwa smiles at her before proceeding to wipe his hands.
When Seohyun is sure Yonghwa has reverted his full attention to wiping his hands, she allows her eyes to wonder to his hands again.
As Yonghwa has predicted, Seohyun's eyes are on his hands again. He smirked. He starts wiping his hands slowly, one finger at one time, left hand first before moving on to the right. Then he puts the tissue paper away and places his hand into his pocket. That is when he heard a disappointment sigh from her.
Seohyun feels a sudden lost when Yonghwa hides his hands away from her view. She sighs and looks at her own hands. Their couple ring on her finger sparkles extraordinarily bright tonight. She fingers her ring and let her thoughts wonder on other things, which does not include Yonghwa's hands.
Now Yonghwa feels regret. He wants to tease her, not to stop her from paying attention to his hands. Therefore, quietly and stealthily he takes out his right hand from his pocket and quickly grasps Seohyun's left hand. He hears her gasp.
"The ring looks beautiful." Yonghwa says, his eyes looking directly into hers. He sees her blushing prettily.
"I thought so too." Seohyun answers shyly. She is not able to explain that feeling of comfort when his hand is holding hers. His eyes are breathtaking, making her heart beats a hundred times faster.
"Today was great. I love today." Yonghwa tells her.
"Me too." Seohyun says as she takes a deep breath. "I-I just want to tell you that today is the best day of my life, especially having to spend the day with you and my favourite food."
Yonghwa chuckles. "Always the typical Seohyun you are."
Seohyun gulps nervously. She feels Yonghwa's thumb caressing the back of her hand. His calloused fingers on her hands are enough to make her drown.
"Yonghwa-ya..." Seohyun whispers his name.
Yonghwa is stunned. It is the first time Seohyun saying his name with a whole load of passion. He continues to search her eyes. The shyness, the awkwardness gone. It is placed with something which is much more endearing.
Yonghwa frees his other hand out of his pocket and gently brings it forward, placing it gently on her cheek. Seohyun closes her eyes when Yonghwa gently caressed her cheek, enjoying the warmth he is providing.
Yonghwa feels his heart thumping wild the moment Seohyun closes her eyes. His own eyes travel all around her face, observing every single detail on that innocent face of hers. Her closed eyes, her cute-button nose and finally her luscious lips which is parted slightly.
Yonghwa is not able to stand it any longer. Unconciously, he licked his lips and leaned towards Seohyun. He closes the small distance between them. He kisses her.
Seohyun swears her heart stops the moment his lips brush hers. She is new to this. Practically her first! She gasps when Yonghwa moves his head slightly, leaning further in and nipping at her bottom lip. She feels his tongue prying her lips, seeking entrance. She parts her lips, and his tongue meets hers, her teeth hitting his. Seohyun smirks, noticing how clumsy they are.
Yonghwa pulls back, grinning himself. He looks at Seohyun who still has her eyes closed whilst smirking. Then she flutters her eyes open. The shyness enveloping those eyes once again.
Seohyun brings up her right hand towards Yonghwa's lips. "You got a bit of lip gloss here." Seohyun whispers as she uses her thumbs to rub his lips gently.
Yonghwa is smitten. Seohyun is getting bolder. Then he allows his left hand to grab hers, pulling it near his lips again before kissing the back of her hand. He looks out for her reaction, and to his amazement, she blushes again. He is getting addicted.
"I think I'm getting addicted to this." Seohyun says as she raises both her hands, pulling Yonghwa's hands with hers. "Holding your hands."
"My hands are yours now. You can do anything with it." Yonghwa whispers to her, the smile never leaving his lips.
"Ah? Jeongmal? Then I want to do this." Seohyun lets go of his hands, much to Yonghwa's disappointment before grinning again, when Seohyun slides towards his side and pulls his right arm over her shoulders. Then she rests her head on top of his shoulder.
Yonghwa feels as if his heart is going to pop out any moment now. This is even better! He pulls Seohyun closer to him and says, "I think I am getting addicted to this as well."
Seohyun looks at him, her eyes on his, her smile widening. "Me too."
And the night goes on.

Facial Expressions
I wrote this story after reading an article saying SNSD's Jessica being touched by a man during the China-Korea song festival and my first immediate reaction after reading this was of course getting angry. However the rumours were so not true and thank God for that! But it doesn't hurt to just imagine right? The plot was all ready inside my head the moment I read the false article, and so this story came out... Beware! There's a bit of fluff towards the end! And of course it's between Yong and Hyun! Hope you'll enjoy reading this... :) Let's just pretend the incident did happen, alright?
Facial Expressions
Yonghwa banged his fist on the table. He could feel the heat rising out of his body. His furious expression even made Seohyun cowered. She had never seen him acting this way before.
"I shouldn't have told you." Seohyun whispered regrettably. She had her head down, not wanting to continue to look at Yonghwa's direction.
"There's no reason to hide it Hyun. The story's all over the papers and internet!' Yonghwa said, his voice cool but expression still the same. "And that's the proof!" Yonghwa pointed to the laptop in front of them which had a paused video.
"I know. I was really shocked. Especially after Sica unnie told me that herself." Seohyun pouted. "Poor unnie."
Seohyun had just told the full story to Yonghwa about how Jessica was being publicly groped on her back during the Annual Korea-China Song Festival. She did not expect Yonghwa to turn into a ferocious monster all of a sudden. At first she felt proud that her virtual husband actually showed a concern side of him towards her unnie. Then they had watched a fan-taken video together which showed the the change in Jessica's expression after giving her ending speech; from excitement to a sudden forlorn. Then they observed Hyoyeon reactions the minute Jessica whispered to her, a look of disgust enveloping the dancing queen's face as she threw a dagger glares at the man who was initially standing behind Jessica. The minute Jessica moved away from the man, that was when Yonghwa started to bang his fist angrily on the table so Seohyun immediately made to pause the video.
Yonghwa's anger was making Seohyun uncomfortable. It was also making her disappointed. A lot of questions suddenly filled her mind. 'Is Yong oppa interested in Jessica unnie? Then why is he so mad to know about that incident? Why is he so concerned about this matter anyway? Is he hiding something from me?'
"If I knew at that point of time, I would have given him a well-deserved punch!" Yonghwa growled as he glared at the laptop screen.
Seohyun gave a long sigh. She did not want to say anything further. She stood up and walked towards their kitchen, wanting to get herself a cup of water. She did not want her heart to be neglected. It was suddenly hurting, suddenly hurting. 'Aigoo! He must have liked Sica unnie. He wanted to protect her...'
"So that was why you were pulled away by your unnie to the backstage?" Yonghwa suddenly asked from behind her. Seohyun turned in shocked as she came face to face with Yonghwa. She leaned back against the counter top while holding her cup with both hands in front of her face. Yonghwa grinned as he shook his head. He had his hands resting on the counter top, beside Seohyun, and at the same time trapping the surprised maknae there. "And there I was, wondering out loud to my members, why were you rushing." Yonghwa chuckled.
"Ah? N-ne." Seohyun squeaked.
"So your unnies were quick enough to save you first." Yonghwa nodded as he continued to stare into Seohyun's eyes making her squirm nervously.
"I-I wasn't aware of that in the first place. One minute I was standing there smiling at the cameras and the next minute I know, I was pulled away by Sica unnie towards the backstage.." Seohyun said, avoiding Yonghwa's stares. "That was when I passed by you and the rest."
"I see." Yonghwa nodded, smirking. "She pulled you away too fast that I hadn't gotten a chance to say a proper hi to you. And we did not not even backstage."
"That's too bad then." Seohyun shrugged as she took a sip from her drink. Then she tried to make an escape from Yonghwa's trap but he came in closer to her, making her froze.
"I'm glad she did it. He was standing too near." Yonghwa said, frowning.
"Standing too near? Who?" Seohyun asked, confused.
"That bastard!" Yonghwa hissed. "That bastard was standing too close to you."
Seohyun gaped at him. Did she just heard him correctly? "Were-were you mad he was standing near too me?" Seohyun asked again. She needed to know this.
"Of course I'm mad. I'm not just mad, I'm furious! I think I could just go hunt him down and slaughter him!" Yonghwa exclaimed. "He might even have thought of feeling you up too, you'd never know!"
Seohyun lowered down her cup, creating a barrier between her chest and his. Did he just said that? Was he angry that the man was standing close to her? So he wasn't really interested in Jessica? All this while he was being concerned towards her? Seo Joohyun could feel her heart jumping for joy!
"If it were to happen to you instead, I don't know what I'll do." Yonghwa continued, not noticing the change of on Seohyun's facial expression. "I think you'd see a big headline of me in the newspapers, 'Jung Yonghwa, CNBlue's leader, murders to protect Seohyun's honour.'".
Seohyun was not even listening to what Yonghwa was saying. She knew he was saying something to her as his lips were moving in synchronized. Suddenly, without much thought and endurance, she felt herself pressing her lips onto Yonghwa's. Her chest hits her cup during that process, causing the water in the cup to spill all over their shirts. But she did not bother. 'Let it spill...', she did told herself.
Yonghwa gasped the moment Seohyun's lips touched his. Did she just did what he thought she just did? 'Pabo! She's kissing you right now!' His inner voice screamed at him.
Just as quick as her lips caught onto Yonghwa's, it left as quickly as well. Seohyun could hear Yonghwa's soft groan. She giggled, not daring to look up at his disappointed face. Her eyes lingered on the wet patches on her shirt.
"Seo Joohyun," Yonghwa called. "Did you just... kissed me?"
Seohyun looked up slowly and shyly. She nodded and smiled when she saw the goofy grin on his face.
"It was great." Yonghwa mumbled shyly.
"It was..." Seohyun nodded.
"Keep yourself safe in future." Yonghwa said suddenly serious as her looked into her eyes contently.
"I will." Seohyun promised.
"Inform me if anything weird happened."
"I will."
"Don't stand too close to any man."
"Ahrasso." Seohyun nodded.
"Even your fanboys." Yonghwa's tone was strict.
"I can't promise that though." Seohyun shrugged.
"And, will you love me?"
"I will." Seohyun answered confidently before realising it a bit too late. "NE?"
"I take that as a promise." Yonghwa grinned wide. His insides were cheering wildly.
Seohyun felt her cheeks heating up. She watched as his facial expression changed again, from a furious, angry monster to an angelic human angel. That was her human angel, her Jung Yonghwa.

And finally, I hope you readers will enjoy reading this prequel set 4. I'm sorry if it gets a bit boring somewhere, but I hope you would still love it... Thank you for reading!:)
Prequel Set 4 - The Horror in Cravings
Month: 5
Week: 20
How was she supposed to tell her husband of her sudden cravings for goguma ice cream? Not the ordinary kind which could be purchased in any alleys or streets in Seoul, but like the kind which she had in Japan in one of the filmings she and him had during their 'We Got Married' days.
Just thinking of the taste and coolness of the goguma ice cream made Seohyun's mouth watered. It was difficult to erase the thought away from her mind. The more she tried to brush that thought away, the more the cravings were attacking her taste buds. Aigoo! Even her baby was feeling upset for not getting the goguma ice cream as he or she kept attacking her with furious kicks.
"Don't worry darling, omma will get the goguma ice cream for you soon." Seohyun whispered to her baby, whilst stroking her stomach tenderly. "It might not be the same but I'll make sure that it'll satisfy both of our cravings."
Seohyun gave a long sigh before dozing off for an afternoon nap, in hope that the cravings would soon be forgotten.
*****
"Hyun-ah, wake up! I have a surprise for you..."
Seohyun woke up to Yonghwa's ticklish whisperings in her ear. She lifted an eye open and smiled lazily. Yonghwa grinned before trailing soft kisses on her ear, down to her neck.
"Stop it yeobo!" Seohyun giggled, trying to push him off her. But Yonghwa curled himself behind Seohyun and hugging her tight, burrying his face into her thick hair. Seohyun sighed as she started to feel that familiar tugging in her throat. 'Goguma ice cream...' Seohyun thought sadly.
"Did you hear me?" Yonghwa's question brought Seohyun back to reality. She could feel her husband's hand caressing her stomach.
"Ah, ne?"
"I have a surprise for you." Yonghwa said again, sitting himself up on the bed.
"Surprise? What is it?" Seohyun asked as she made herself to sit on the bed as well.
Yonghwa grinned as he placed his hands into his breast pocket of his shirt and pulled out a pair of plane tickets. He laid the tickets out in front of her. "Ja-jannn! Open tickets for a round trip to Japan and back! Just the both of us! Anytime!" Yonghwa told her, grinning madly.
Seohyun did not know what just gotten into her. The moment she heard the word 'Japan' coming out of her husband's mouth, Seohyun immediately stood up from her bed and started looking for her luggage. Yonghwa gave her a strange look as he watched her stuffing clothes inside the luggage.
"Jagi-ya?" Yonghwa had said. "What are you doing?"
"Packing." Seohyun answered, smiling with that familiar twinkling in her eyes.
"Packing?"
"Yes! We're going to Japan right?"
"Yes, but but not so soon right?" Yonghwa started scratching his head in confusion.
"AH? WHY NOT?" Seohyun suddenly screamed, staring at Yonghwa in horror. Yonghwa, on the other hand, froze. He did not expect Seohyun to scream like that. And the best thing was, that was her first scream, towards him.
"I-I-I thought of keeping the tickets until after the baby's born." Yonghwa said quickly.
"Andwae." Seohyun stood, with her hands folded across her chest. Her eyes turned to slits as she glared at Yonghwa. "I want to go to Japan by tonight."
"Tonight? But that's impossible Hyun." Yonghwa told her. "Tonight is definitely too late."
Yonghwa expected Seohyun to answer back with whatever answers she could throw back at him. But what she did next was something he had never thought she would do. Seohyun sat down on the floor and started to cry hysterically like a spoilt child who was throwing tantrums when she did not get what she wanted. Yonghwa was stunned. He seriously did not expect that.
"Seohyun-ah..." Yonghwa kneeled down in front of Seohyun. His hands grasping her shoulders but Seohyun shook them off roughly. She stared at Yonghwa with her tear-strained eyes. Yonghwa could feel his heart broke upon seeing those eyes.
"I want to go to Japan tonight." Seohyun whispered, her voice thick with emotion. Hiccups were clearly audible behind her whispers.
"But, but..."
"I have to go to Japan tonight." Seohyun said behind gritted teeth. She knew she was getting angry. 'What the hell is wrong with me? Why am I acting like this?' Seohyun asked herself. It was as if she had lost her ability to control her emotions.
"Okay, calm down Seohyun-ah. It's not that we can't go to Japan tonight, but see, I have an appointment tomorrow with a new recording artiste from FNC who's going to be singing a song I've composed." Yonghwa started explaining slowly. He was trying to be careful in choosing the correct words.
"Then cancel it." Seohyun replied stubbornly.
Yonghwa shook his head. "It's not that I can't do it, I could, but there's something else." Yonghwa took a deep breath before continuing, "Isn't it risky for pregnant women to take flights? We need to consult with Doctor Kim first. And right now, we don't have the time."
"I already did! She said I'm perfectly fine to travel in flights!" Seohyun told him excitedly, as she wiped her eyes off from the tearings.
"Eyyy. Don't lie to me Seo Joohyun." Yonghwa frowned at her at the same time grinning. He really thought she was joking.
"Aish sinchia!" Seohyun got up and walked over to her dressing table and pulled out a document from the drawer. She then passed it to Yonghwa. His eyes scanned the document quickly.
"When did you get this? When did you consult Doctor Kim? How come I was not aware of it?" Yonghwa started asking. He was getting very confused.
"Um, ever since I started having that cravings." Seohyun whispered again, this time she avoided looking into Yonghwa's eyes.
"Cravings? What cravings?"
"I-I have been craving for that goguma ice cream since the past week." Seohyun started sobbing again. "The one we had in Japan last time!"
Yonghwa quickly struggled up to his feet and pulled Seohyun into his embrace. "Sssh, Hyun-ah, don't cry darling." Yonghwa could not bear to see the tears in her eyes. It just hurt him so much. "Why didn't you tell me about your cravings? So that's why you wanted to go Japan so much."
"I-I did not wa~nt to bother you over these minor things." Seohyun whined, her lips pouting.
"Oh darling, you know I would do anything for you and our baby." Yonghwa bent down to place a kiss on Seohyun's damp lips.
"Sinchia? Then take me to Japan now." Seohyun pleaded, stamping her feet lightly on the floor.
Yonghwa smiled uncertainly but nonetheless gave her an encouraging hug. "Ahrasso. I'll see what I can do. But I can't promise you that we could get the flight by tonight."
Seohyun nodded. Her eyes getting brighter upon hearing Yonghwa's words. She watched as her husband made a dial on his cell phone to whoever it might be. His face turned serious when he talked to someone about flight tickets to Japan and of his appointment cancellation for the next day. A few minutes later, Yonghwa walked over to her before saying, "Pack our luggage. We're going to Japan tonight!"
*****
Seohyun smiled. She could feel herself rising from her sleep. She had a dream. A funny dream indeed. Funny yet wonderful at the same time. She dreamt that she was married to Jung Yonghwa and that they were expecting their first child. And she had cravings. The rich cravings of wanting to eat goguma ice cream. That cool and sweet goguma ice cream. She could imagine the taste of it on her tongue, in her throat...
"Goguma ice cream..." Seohyun allowed those words to roll out of her tongue.
"Hyun-ah, wake up." Seohyun could hear that familiar voice again, that husky and sexy voice. "We're reaching soon. Open your eyes. Aigoo! You're even dreaming of goguma ice cream!"
Seohyun opened her eyes slowly. It was bright. For a moment there, she closed her eyes once more before opening them again. There it was, the silhouette of a man, sitting beside her whilst looking at her. She could tell he was smiling.
Seohyun quickly rubbed the sleep from her eyes and sat up straight. She looked at the man again. This time, he had tilt her head up towards him and planted a long kiss on her lips.
"Good morning sleepy head!" Yonghwa whispered as he pulled back from the morning kiss.
Seohyun realised that the man was Yonghwa, her husband! "G-Good morning!" Seohyun stammered, smiling nervously.
"Aigoo! You were really tired. Sorry to make you wait so long for the flight." Yonghwa caressed her cheeks lovingly.
Seohyun took a look around her. She was indeed sitting on a plane. Seohyun gulped nervously. Was it what she thought it was? Was she dreaming in the first place? Or was she not?
"A-ani. Are-are we reaching Japan soon?" Seohyun's voice trembled as she asked.
"Yes darling. We're almost there." Yonghwa nodded.
Seohyun gasped. So it wasn't a dream! Her hands immediately flew down to her stomach. There it was, the baby bump. So it really wasn't a dream after all! She did made all the ruckus just to go to Japan to get her goguma ice cream!
"Ah wae Hyun-ah? The baby kicked again?" Yonghwa asked, his voice in panic mode.
"Ah? Ani, ani. It's nothing." Seohyun immediately calmed him down.
"Love, let's eat some breakfast first once we land. I'm hungry." Yonghwa pouted causing Seohyun to giggle.
"Ahrasso yeobo. I'm hungry too." Seohyun said.
"Yeah! Japan here we come!"
*****
It was almost 10 a.m, in the morning. Yonghwa and Seohyun had just finished with their breakfast and were currently waiting for the next bus to direct them to Kawagoe where they had been previously, a few years ago.
Seohyun smiled excitedly. She just couldn't wait to get her goguma ice cream. Yonghwa on the other hand was feeling a bit tired and was yawning constantly. It had been a long night for him, with all the arguments about the Japan flight tickets with a few airport personnels and all the explanations and excuses he had to come out with to postpone his meeting with FNC. And all those things he did in the name of love, his love for his dear wife, Seo Joohyun.
They boarded the bus a few minutes later. The moment they had settled down in their seats, Yonghwa immediately gave in to sleep. Seohyun wasn't feeling tired, so she decided to allow herself and her baby to listen to her favourite piano piece, Pathetique, via her MP3 while looking out the window of the bus and watched the streets of Tokyo passed by. It was a long journey, very long indeed.
*****
Two and a half hours later, Seohyun and Yonghwa found themselves standing in front of the ice cream store. Seohyun felt her heart thumping wildly. 'This is it! My darling, this is it!' Seohyun's heart chanted over and over again to the baby in her womb. This was what she came to Japan for!
"Two sweet potatoes ice cream please." Yonghwa told the store vendor who nodded.
Seohyun grinned, feeling more excited than ever. Finally the ice cream cone was passed to her. Seohyun admired the twirls of the ice cream on the cone. It looked pretty, soft and snowy. The smell of goguma reached her nose and she sighed out loud. She was overwhelmed. Tears started to fill her eyes again as she continued to stare at the ice cream.
"Hyun-ah, what happened?" Yonghwa asked gazing at Seohyun thoughtfully.
"I'm just so happy to have this." Seohyun told him. "It's goguma ice cream."
Yonghwa gave a chuckle. "Eat it quick. Or else it'll melt just like the last time."
Seohyun nodded. She brought the ice cream close towards her lips. She closed her eyes as she gave the ice cream a taste. Yonghwa grinned as he watched his wife started to eat the ice cream but he was suddenly stunned when he heard Seohyun scowling. Then he watched in horror as Seohyun stamped her feet and straight away walked towards a nearby dustbin and threw the ice cream away.
Yonghwa ran after her, his own ice cream dripping slowly down his hands. But he did not care. He needed to find out why Seohyun was acting that way.
"What happen Joohyun-ah? Is there something wrong with the ice cream? Isn't that what you craved for?" Yonghwa asked simultaneously. His ice cream now long forgotten.
"It's not it! It's just not it!" Seohyun started crying for the second time that day. Yonghwa was suddenly lost for words. "It tasted horrible! It's not it!"
"Wh-why?" Yonghwa stammered, literally confused with his wife's fickle-mindedness. Then he noticed his half-melted ice cream and threw it away as well.
"I want to go home yeobo, I want to go home." Seohyun cried, leaning into his chest for comfort.
Yonghwa pulled her close, hugging her tight. He was confused, unable to define the reason for Seohyun's behaviour change. Wasn't she the one who really wanted to go to Japan just to get her goguma ice cream? Wasn't that what she had been craving for the past week? Yonghwa sighed. He was really lost.
A couple of hours later, Yonghwa led Seohyun to a hotel to rest. She looked tired and restless. She went to sleep with tear-strained face which made Yonghwa's heart hurt a little. He watched her sleep before making his way to the balcony of his hotel room to think. He sighed as he pulled out his cell phone, searching for that one person's number whom he thought could give him the answer to all this confusion that he was facing.
"Yeobosaeyo?" A female voice answered. Yonghwa heaved a sigh of relief.
"Taeyeon-ssi?" Yonghwa asked to make sure.
"Ne. May I know who's speaking?"
"It's me, Jung Yonghwa, Seohyun's husband."
"Aigoo! Yong seobang!" Taeyeon squealed, before tuning her voice to serious mode. "Did something happen to Hyunnie? Is she okay?"
"Ani, she's fine. We're in Japan now."
"Japan? Wah! I envy you guys!" Taeyeon sighed. "I can't even think of having a holiday. As you know, I'm tied down with the twins, a professional swimming coach for a husband and my busy schedule, there's no way I can get a free time to myself."
Yonghwa laughed at Teayeon's complains. "Why don't you plan out with Taehwan to go for a second honeymoon, without the kids of course."
"I can't do that! The kids need me!" Taeyeon chuckled happily.
"Anyway, as you know, we're in Japan right now. Um, we're here to satisfy Seohyun's cravings." Yonghwa said nervously. He seriously was not sure on how to explain the situation properly to Taeyeon.
"Ah! I see." Taeyeon nodded. "And what did she craved for?"
"Goguma ice cream."
"Goguma ice cream?"
"Ne." Yonghwa shrugged.
"So have you gotten it for her?" Taeyeon asked.
"Yes, I did. But the moment she tasted the ice cream, she hated it and threw it away. The next minute I knew, she was sobbing hard and told me that she wanted to go home. I am really confused. I don't know what to do." Yonghwa sighed. "Is this normal?"
"I do pity you Yonghwa-ssi." Taeyeon said as she held back her laughter. "Let me explain to you. Pregnant women are very different. The changes in their hormones may cause them to be more sensitive. You could expect behaviour changes as well. Like at first she'd say she want something, but once she got hold of it, she wouldn't want it already."
"Ah! Now I remember. She was acting almost like a kid. I had a hard time trying to coax her."
"Yonghwa-ya, pregnant woman do whine a lot. So what you can do is, just be patient and try your best to understand her. It may be hard but I'm sure you can do it." Taeyeon said, her voice assuring. "You are lucky Yonghwa, that the only thing she did was just whine and cries. I was um even worst."
"Even worst? What do you mean?" Yonghwa was getting curious. What did Park Taehwan had to go through during Taeyeon's pregnancy? Was it the same thing like what he was having right now?
"I was a bad pregnant wife at that time. I had a lot of complains. I was craving for a lot of things. Things which are damn difficult to find." Taeyeon sighed. "I even accused my husband of having an affair with one of the swimmers he was training. I was very bad."
Yonghwa fell silent upon hearing Taeyeon's confession. Suddenly, he felt thankful that Seohyun was not acting that way and he hoped she would not be acting that way anytime soon until she had safely given birth.
"Well, for that, I do pity Taehwan. He must have suffered a lot." Yonghwa said.
"You bet he did. But he's a very patient man, very patient. I'm lucky to have him as a husband." Taeyeon smiled.
"So what should I do as a husband other than just being patient?" Yonghwa asked.
"There's a lot of things you can do Yonghwa. You could always spend time with her, so that you'll know what she wants. And in return she'll feel the love from you. She just want more of your attention. Do something which would touch her heart. By doing that, she'll feel that you are sharing her burden."
"Ahrasso. I will try to do that. Thanks for talking and sharing about this stuff with me. I was really lost in the first place. But your advice made it better." Yonghwa said, his voice sounding a little brighter.
"No worries. I am always ready to help." Taeyeon smiled. "Anyway, where is Hyun now?"
"She's sleeping now. She had a rough day." Yonghwa told her. "I'm going to let her rest for a while."
"Yes, you should. And make sure you are by her side when she wakes up." Taeyeon reminded him.
"Ahrasso. Of course I will do that." Yonghwa smirked. "Anyway, I got to go now. I need to see how she's doing."
"Okay then, if there is anymore problems, feel free to beep me. I'm glad to be of help."
"Thanks Taeyeon. Thank you so much. Please send my regards to Taehwan. I'll bring Hyun to see you soon once we come back from Japan.
"Okay, bye Yo~ng!"
Yonghwa smiled as he placed his cell phone into his pocket. He was feeling better indeed. The worry in his head was gone. He could do this. 'Fighting!' Yonghwa cheered for himself before going back into the hotel room to join his wife in bed.
*****
It was about six in the morning when Seohyun was suddenly awakened by the sound of humming. Yonghwa was humming her most favourite song, while making himself a cup of coffee. Her favourite song, the song which describes her, Love Light. Seohyun stood up and quietly walked towards him, without making a sound. She then proceeded to give him a back hug, which caused him to immediately stop his humming.
"I'm sorry." Seohyun whispered, her face buried into his back.
Yonghwa smiled. "It's okay darling. I understand." Yonghwa said, his voice soothing.
"I shouldn't have forced you to come to Japan."
Seohyun had her hands on Yonghwa's stomach and Yonghwa proceeded to place his hands on top of hers. "Don't worry love. We could still enjoy ourselves here right?"
Seohyun sighed before smiling. "I guess you're right. We still could."
Yonghwa turned around to face her. His smile widened to see her freshly-awakened-from-sleep face. "You're cute you know that?"
"Ah, sinchia! You're teasing me again!" Seohyun pouted.
Yonghwa leaned forward, the tip of his nose brushing against Seohyun's ears. "I love you." Yonghwa whispered.
Seohyun chuckled shyly. "I love you too." She whispered earning her a kiss on her cheek, her nose and finally one long, passionate one on the lips.
"And I love her too." Yonghwa whispered again, placing his hands on her bulging stomach.
"Why do you keep thinking she's a her? Who knows he's a he?" Seohyun asked, amused.
"I just know. My daughter and I have a special telepathy." Yonghwa told her before bending down and proceeded to talk to her stomach, "Don't we darling?"
"Aigoo! You're conceited!" Seohyun laughed, patting Yonghwa's head lightly.
"Now, I want you to get ready, we're going out later." Yonghwa said as he led her to the toilet.
"Out? Where?" Seohyun asked, her eyes full of wonder.
"Breakfast first and then, to a special place."
"Hm... Ahrasso." Seohyun shrugged before nodding and headed for a shower.
*****
It was after breakfast when Yonghwa reminded Seohyun that they were going to a special place. Seohyun was of course feeling very excited. She kept on asking her husband where they were going and he kept telling her that it was a secret.
"This route seems familiar." Seohyun voiced out, as she keep a look out for her husband's reaction.
Yonghwa just smiled and held her hand tight, gesturing for her to keep on walking. Seohyun shrugged and followed quietly. Her eyes were scanning the surroundings wildly. It felt as if she had been there before, but she just could not seem to remember when and where.
"Just walk on. If we do, a very nice place will appear." Yonghwa told her, grinning.
"Hm, I feel as if I heard those words from you before." Seohyun mumbled, pouting cutely. Yonghwa laughed upon seeing the pout.
"We're almost there."
Then suddenly, Seohyun remembered. The memory crept slowly to her mind. It was the place where they had written their well-wishes for each other's success in Japan. The place which strengthened their relationship as a couple.
"Ommo!" Seohyun gasped the moment they entered the temple. "You still remember this?"
"Of course love. Whatever I did with you and wherever I went with you, I will surely remember it." Yonghwa grinned.
"Yeobo-ya, do you think our wooden message board still exist?" Seohyun asked excitedly, pulling at her husband's hand.
"Hm, I'm not too sure. There might be people who might have come and take it away."
"Eyyy. They are not that bad."
Yonghwa laughed. "Besides, I have forgotten where we put it and it seems the wooden boards have multiplied over the years! Look!" Sure enough, there were countless wooden boards. Hundreds, maybe millions of them! "Let's write another one." Yonghwa suggested.
"Another one?"
"Ne. Let's choose another board with a different meaning then."
"Ahrasso." Seohyun nodded, agreeing to Yonghwa's idea. So they walked hand in hand towards the counter booth to purchase another wooden board. Again this time, Seohyun was attracted by the same wooden board with a picture of a flower on it.
"This is for married couples who are going to have a baby and hopes for an easy birth or delivery." The man at the counter explained to them in Japanese.
Seohyun smiled gratefully at the man and pointed to her stomach. The man nodded, understanding. Yonghwa, on the other hand, just grinned.
"You wanted it ever since you saw it the last time right?" Yonghwa asked when they found a shady place to sit and write.
"Right. This attracts me the most." Seohyun said. "I wanted to choose it that time, but the message was inapproprite for us before. But now, it's suitable enough!"
"You're right." Yonghwa held Seohyun close and placed a kiss on her cheek.
"Hm, this time, I'll write first shall I?" Seohyun asked, her eyes glittering whilst looking at Yonghwa.
"Okay. Write it quick." Yonghwa grinned.
'My dearest baby...
You enter this world to complete our lives,
our soul, our hearts, our love, our dream.
You're the most precious thing God has ever created for us.
You exist because of our love, our bond, our trust for each other.
We will patiently wait for your arrival, sweetheart.
Omma and Appa love you very, very much!'
- Seo Joohyun
"Okay, done." Seohyun said, passing the wooden board to Yonghwa, before wiping the tears which were threatening to come out from her eyes. Yonghwa smiled.
'Annyong my baby!
How are you feeling today? I hope you are doing fine there.
Omma's been crying a lot recently and Appa is having a hard time consoling her.
Please come out fast! Kekeke!
I can't wait for you to be born. I can't wait to hold you, love you and sing to you.
I have a song ready for you too! So hurry and come!
And, your CNBlue uncles are nuisance, so do not love them too much. :)
I love you first.
-Jung Yonghwa
Seohyun took a peek at her husband's writings. Seohyun smirked, shaking her head. "Aigoo! You're terrible, Jung Yonghwa."
"What? She'll understand what I am trying to say." Yonghwa told her, grinning, as he tried to hang the wooden board up.
Seohyun laughed hard. But she admitted to herself that Yonghwa's message for their baby was indeed very cute.
Once the wooden board was safely hung, Seohyun and Yonghwa walked out of the temple, hand in hand again, laughing over some memories which they had created over the years. Indeed, the moment they stepped out of the temple, after writing messages on the wooden boards, they could feel their relationship growing even stronger. Deeply in their hearts, they wished for an everlasting happiness for their marriage, for their love and for their future.
*****
Two days later.
A couple was seen walking slowly out of the arrival gate at Seoul Incheon Airport. The man was looking handsome as usual, whereas the woman was looking beautiful and radiant as ever. The man had his left arm wrapped around the woman's waist whereas his other arm was coolly pushing the luggage trolley. Once in a while, the woman would stroke her stomach tenderly, and would often look at the man's direction to smile at him. They clearly looked very happy and content.
"Are you tired Hy~un?" Yonghwa asked, looking at his wife.
"Ne. A bit." Seohyun smiled.
Yonghwa grinned. "Okay, let's go home."
Seohyun nodded. She did feel tired. She really wanted to go home. But there was something wrong somewhere. Her throat felt funny. It could not be the morning sickness again, as it had ended a long time ago. There it was again, that strong desire to have something really badly. Seohyun frowned.
Yonghwa noticed the change in Seohyun's expression. She was not smiling like she did earlier. There was something familiar in that look of hers that he could not seem to grasp.
Then, there was that smell. The smell which she used to hate before she had gotten pregnant. But now that smell was irresisting sweet to her. She closed her eyes, trying to sniff in the air for more of that smell, the aroma of meat being grilled, fried or even barbequed. She wanted that. She craved for that. She would make sure she got that.
"Jagi-ya? Are you okay?" Yonghwa asked, concern in his eyes.
"Ne, kwenchana." Seohyun answered. She was currently debating with her inner self whether to voice it to Yonghwa or not.
"Okay then, let's go." Yonghwa grasped Seohyun's hand to pull her along with him but was unable to as she pulled him back. She was looking at him with an apologetic look. Yonghwa looked back at her, confused.
"Yeobo-ya," Seohyun said, gulping nervously. "I'm craving for a hamburger."
"Bo?!" Yonghwa just thought that he had fainted.
